COVID-19 Changes

Please read the following notice regarding COVID changes to our service.

Update to August 2, 2020 Phase II plan

To all Brother & Sisters of FCC,                                                                                July 28, 2020

The elders would like to share with you FCC's progress in carefully reopening our church for worship.  Since May 24th we have been very focused on the need for safety, given the very real and continuing health risk our world faces, along with meeting the deep need among us to be together in person for worship at our church's physical home.  We continue to evaluate our procedures while working closely under Shelly Snyder guidance, being very prudent in making sure our 1st phased in approach is both the best and safest way for us all.

The elders now feel the time has come to move forward with some needed adjustments for our next phased in approach.  Effective Sunday, August 2, 2020 we're announcing FCC will hold only one worship service at our regularly scheduled time of 10:30 am.  We're also resuming our Adult Sunday School class in the sanctuary at its normal start time of 9:30 am (if you attend, please stay in the same seat for church so we don't have to clean afterwards).  We will not be offering Children's Sunday School or Power up for Jesus (Junior Church) or nursery at this time because of limited space, cleaning requirements, etc.  We are still not able to hold any church dinners either because of social distancing requirements, including we are canceling Community Day.

The governor of Indiana, Eric Holcomb has issued a state wide mask mandate, starting Monday July 27, 2020.  Mask or face coverings are required in all public indoor spaces.  This means mask or face coverings MUST be worn at all times in our church to protect everyone.  The only exception is when taking communion, but then they are to be put back on and remain on until exiting the building.

We will still enter from the Fellowship Hall and follow our normal process we have in place today (temperature check, wearing a mask is strongly suggested, drop offering in the KFC bucket, pick up disposable communion, no bulletins, maintain 6' distance, hand sanitizers are offered as we continue to do the same cleaning measures as before/after.  The pews are still clearly marked off so only two people per row or an entire family can sit together - please, come as a family and stay together as a family & the drinking fountain is still shut off.   All restrooms are open but again, please try to limit access for your own safety.  When the service is over, you can leave by any door, front or back, but again please keep 6' feet distance as you exit).

Only those who are in good health, who have no symptoms of COVID-19 should attend.  Those 65 years or older who are of high risk should consider whether to attend or not.

We will continue to offer online via Facebook Pastor Les sermons and communion.   We are excited about this new phase, but if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know by calling Terry Dodd (317-797-8657 - leave a message if no answer) or you can email him @ TLDODD75@GMAIL.COM.  And, please continue to pray for this reopening as well as the safety of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sincerely in Christ,
        The elders of FCC
